MURSHIDABAD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY
  rht_shd

"When you are through with your duties, turn off your nervous motor. Retire to the center of your being, which is calmness. Mentally affirm to yourself: 'I am calm. I am not a mere nervous mechanism' " and then begin, as "in the beginning, there was neither naught nor aught. Then there was neither sky nor atmosphere above". Do you think You have entered a dotcom referring to spirituality meditation? You are partly right and partly not, because education is mediation and this web site gives you an opportunity to unravel a similar yet different technical institution where information drilled into your brain which runs riot there being undigested but here education refers to the knowledge of life building, character building, man-making and assimilation of ideas to equip yourself and place yourself in a niche. Browsing through the different aspects will make you understand the difference in its similarity with other technical institutions.

Murshidabad College of Engineering and Technology was born at the right time when the need for technical institutions became primary for the development of the infrastructure of the country and the Government alone was unable to shoulder the huge burden of setting up such institutions.

This College started in 1998 with the approval of AICTE and affiliation to Kalyani University with 120 students in 3 disciplines, as a non commercial, self financing, partly Govt. Aided Engineering College from the MIT Campus and soon after six months shifted to its own huge campus where the Laboratories, Workshops, Classrooms, Library, Computer Centers and Hostels are all located.

The new horizon in the field of technical education in India, the Murshidabad College Of Engineering and Technology was inaugurated by Dr. Asim Kr. Dasgupta, Minister-In-Charge, Finance, Govt. of West Bengal, on 8th August, 1998. The formal inauguration of this College building "PRATYAY" (meaning ‘Confidence’) was done by the then Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal Mr. Buddha Dev Bhattacharya. The College moved one step ahead when it moved under the West Bengal University of Technology from the very day the later came into existance.

It is a matter of pride that within a span of Eight years the progress of the College has been remarkable. The students of this College are doing extremely well in the examinations conducted by the University and they are serving successfully in many reputed organizations of allover India and those of Abroad.
